Romero horror film of 2002 and it is not his best film, but still worth seeing for fans of the genre or people interested in zombie films. The movie stars Randal McClane as the main protagonist and he is a US Treasury agent who finds out that some criminals are using zombies as currency on an island off the coast of Haiti. He goes to the island with a team of six other people and they end up locked in a house by some Haitian men who want them to die, but the zombies are more dangerous. There are some good parts in this movie, but it is nowhere near as tense as Land of the Dead or as gory as Dawn of the Dead. The tone of this movie is more serious and also comic at times. The Zombies are not as fast as some other films which gives it a slow burn approach, which can be boring at times because there is very little action until around 45 minutes into the film.The film is well presented with a 1080p quality picture and has a 16:9 widescreen ratio. There is a Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix with an English DTS HD Master Audio 2.0 soundtrack and the picture and sound is good, but not as good as some other recent horror films like The Descent or 28 Weeks Later which have both been remade as 3D movies with better quality. The film has good quality acting though and Randal McClane does a great job of playing the lead character. There are some nice moments in the film such as using a zombie as a scare tactic to move a couple of people out of a building so they can get rescued, I found it very effective since I was more inclined to watch this film due to my interest in the zombies being used as currency. The zombie effects are not as good as some other films, but they are still good enough to watch the movie for. There are some decapitations in the film, but they are infrequent due to the slow pace.The movie is well paced and it does not hurt that this film was directed by George A. Romero who directed Night of the Living Dead in 1968 and also Dawn of the Dead in 1978 which were both popular films about Zombies. Even though this is not the best film of the series, it still does feel like a good addition to the series. I would recommend watching this film if you are a fan of zombie films or George A. Romero movies because there are some good moments in this film. However, I would not recommend watching this film for anyone else unless you have seen all other "The Living Dead" films or want to see another zombie film made by George A. Romero.
